I'm curious to see if you know what couple this is, and what episode this takes place in. There is a very specific moment in the show that imagined this drabble for, so guess what it is.
Totally off-topic, but did you notice in that one fifth-season episode (I have no clue which one) the book Monica is reading is called "Intuition in Love"? I thought that was so cute. Whee!

"Step Back"
Right now, he's a little confused.
What should he do? Her head is against his chest, her arms wrapped around his body; he can feel her heart beating to the same ancient rhythm as his; now that he thinks about it, they beat as one, and it feels as though this moment was meant to be.
His spine tingles- in a vaguely good way- and suddenly, a strange sensation takes hold over his mind. It's wonderful and compelling and something he wants to explore with maybe a kiss, or a touch. A part of him wants to move closer, wants to comfort her in some other way than a hug, but the other part of him is ashamed of these thoughts of things that should be reserved only for drunken dreams.
He knows he must listen to his logical side, but with this thought comes a sorrow that he insists to himself does not really exist; he is only imagining that, as he steps back from her, he feels as though any mistakes they could have made would have turned out alright.
