A dark, dark cloud slowly crept over the skies of Canterlot, breathing a sharp wind throughout it's city. You would not have noitised the cloud, as it was a black night. Only if you pered really, really closely through a telocope, you would just about see the dark outline of it's surface.
All of this commotion caught Princess Luna's attention. So much so that she woke her sister from her sleep.
"What do meen?" Mumbled Celestia, still half asleep.
"I've told you! A dark cloud is blowing over Canterlot and is making it's way all over Equestria!" Cried Luna. Celestia sat bolt up in her bed
" we must get Twilight and Cadence."
Far, far ago, the Princesses wrote opon scrolls that dark forces would sweep across Equestria and take over, filling it with misery and cruelty.
But they told also of a Saviour, who would rid them of such things... With any luck.
"You wanted to see us, Celestia?" Said Twilight Sparkle, walking into the castle, with Cadence close behind.
"Yes. I do" Began Celestia, "as you can see, there is a dark cloud spreading over Equestria. Luna and I have inspected the cloud and it is no ordinary cloud..."
"What sort of cloud is it?" Asked Cadence. "If it's not a cloud what can it be?"
"Centrurize ago..."
Twilight glaced a Cadence.
"A long time ago" she whispered.
"Luna and myself wrote opon..."
An other glace.
"Wrote on,"
"Magic scrolls, telling of such a thing."
"But why?" Asked Twilight. " And how did you know that it would happen?"
" we knew of such a cloud because our Mother told us that an evil pony king would return, only to be stopped by two coragouse ponnies. We wrote on the scrolls in case we had passed away by that time."
" you said return, the pony king had been before?" Asked Cadence
"Well, urm, ah," stammered Celestia.
"Yes," informed Luna. " he had." Twilight began to noitise the tears welling up in both Princess' eyes. "He, he, he... It doesn't matter, all we know is that he did terrible things to ponnies and...''
"AND" questioned Twilight.
"and Unicorn and Pegusi" said Luna, very quickly indeed.
Cadence and Twilight were not convinced that the Princesses were being entirely honest, but no matter how hard they tried, nothing else would be told.
"It brings back harsh memories, but we need to keep going." Celestia thought.
And that's only the beginning...
