Fare Thee Well
By Writer's Block247

I can still remember that warm spring day –

You were standing near the entrance of the arena,

Tossing your elegant head because the lead rope

Was too short so that you couldn't eat any grass.

As I brushed and tacked you up, I told you a little bit about myself

And what a pretty boy you were.

As we cantered around the arena, I felt like I was flying.

You were such a good boy for me when it came to Fair

And costume class – we made a perfect team.

Thank you for letting me dress you up in those ridiculous costumes,

You were such a trooper.

Also, thank you for doing so well with the Baby Green class,

Even though we were disqualified, but I didn't care.

You are such a perfect horse

I will never forget you.

You are my "leased" guardian Angel horse.

Don't forget me when you're up in Animal heaven, old buddy.
