It seems that everyday, at least ONE person is writing home. One person is always sending word to their friends and family that they have lived another day, or that they'll be home soon, or for whatever reason. It's frustrating for me to see it, since I have no one to write back to.
I've not told anyone, but I have no family. Everyone who I could call family has died. My parents were killed by bandits when I was five, then Koushiro. Koushiro was a hacker and Zoid designer who found me soon after my parents died. He just came up to me one day, and for some unfathomable reason began talking to me. The talk soon turned into an argument, and when that ended he laughed, said I had given him his inspiration, and took me to his home. I soon found out what he meant when three days later he showed plans for a Zoid. That Zoid was the Mecha Ryu. I never thought much of the name, but Koushiro reasoned that since I inspired it, it ought to be named after me. For the next ten years we worked and sweated and shed blood to build the Mecha Ryu, and we finished it. Five days later, they came for him. I don't know who it was, maybe gangsters or the government, but they came in the dea of night. Koushiro knocked me out, put me in the Mecha Ryu, and set the auto pilot to take me far away. When I woke, I was in the middle of nowhere, and all alone. For awhile I hired myself out as a mercenary, going from team to team, making enough to get by. It was then I saw the advert for the tournament.
Back then, the name Blackhole meant nothing to me. All I knew was that it was a tournament with a nice amount of prize money, so I entered. Had someone told me joining this tournament would involve me in a war, I would've said they'd been hitting the bars too hard and too often. Anyway, I was paired up with four other pilots by the names of Kachie, Alex, John and Grit. Grit's the lazy, laid back sniper of our group. He never seems to take things seriously and that often annoys Kachie. Still, Grit is a pro sniper and I'm personally glad he's on our side. Not too long ago though, Grit went MIA. No one knows if he's dead, alive, captured, or anything. Kachie used to be easy to describe, but she's changed recently. Even Alex has noticed. Maybe it has something to do with Grit being MIA. Who knows though. I don't have much experience with girls. I wonder if other guys have as much trouble as I do understanding girls. John and Alex are the Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum of our group. They're almost always cracking jokes with each, and it's almost strange to see one without the other. I remember the first night of the tournament they stayed up all night talking about what our team name should be. In the end, Kachie chose the name Team DraakFeuer. I don't remember much of the tournament now. My mind has been too preoccupied with the war to remember the details of the tournament. I suppose it really doesn't matter though. All that matters now is driving Blackhole back. Hopefully without Kachie, John and Alex dying. Before now anyone close to me died. I hope that won't be the case this time. Maybe once this war is over I can live a normal life. Have to go now. Kachie just poked her head in and said we're moving out.
Sincerely
Ryu

I figured that since Devil Dog and Txlonestar made side storys, I may as well make one. Read and Review!
