Keep The Mind Clear
An aged woman with white hair and a fragile, sallow looking body lay upon a bed of white crisp sheets. She looked at her bedside table and picked up the only picture that stood there. She ran her fingers down the side of the silver frame and then placed them gently on the smiling face that was centered in the picture. The boy, no, man in the picture smiled back up at her and blew a kiss.
The woman remembered a time of her past as she watched the man in the photo.
"All right class, that's been enough for today. Do remember to practice your stunning spells and other basic defense spells. The NEWTs are coming up sooner than you'd think and you wouldn't want to be caught unawares."
The woman in the bed, although considerably younger, was standing at the head of a classroom whilst watching her class of seventh years packing up their bags.
As the first of the students made their way to the door she called out, "What's the most important thing whilst combating the dark arts?"
She received a rather unanimous reply of, 'Keep the mind clear!'
She sat down as the last of the students left the room.
'Well Mister Malfoy, are you going to sit there sulking or are you going to do something about it?'
The blonde-haired man rose from his seat and walked over to the desk.
"If I don't do anything, will you punish me?"
The woman resisted the shuddering that coursed through her body at his sultry words.
"I might have to Mister Malfoy. I ensure you, it will bring me more pleasure than you."
"Hmm," Lucius pretended to ponder, "Is there a way this can work for both of us?"
The woman stood up and sat on her desk, swinging her legs over to face him. She pointed her wand at the door and charmed the door to remain locked.
As his hands ran up and down her sides, she memorized the feeling she had. She knew he was betrothed to that prat of a girl Narcissa Black. She knew it was wrong to be with a student, especially one who was engaged. The only thing she had going for her was that he was of age and his hands made her feel like a puddle of molten gold.
She turned her thoughts away from the negatives and positives of the affair she was in. She allowed herself to just feel.
Galatea Merrythought, the woman in the bed, stroked Luciius Malfoy's face gently one last time as she sucked in a breath and felt her life force leave her.
So this one was really hard! I figured that Merrythought would be one of those strong women who didn't open up to anybody, only to that one person. Then they become a spinster and pine after their love, ignoring their past deeds and mishaps. So R&R if you feel so inclined :)
