A revised poem I wrote for Ryou Bakura three years ago. It is told from his point of view and he is addressing his millennium spirit, Yami Bakura.

Disclaimer: I do not own Yu-Gi-Oh! or any of it's characters. That all belongs to Kazuki Takahashi.

I am bound to you

In body, soul, spirit, and mind.

From the first day I received the "gift" from my father, you have invaded the every little aspect of me

And never did you hesitate to respect any of my thoughts and boundaries.

I cannot get rid of you, nor forget of what you have done.

I plead and beg for you to stop,

Yet you are only amused and see yourself to just be having fun.

I cannot control you in any way, only you can control me.

Why is that?

Has that relic truly bound me to the cruel and vicious spirit of a murderous thief?

Has it cursed me to be forever with you, the one I fear the most?

The one who harms me, who cares not for me, and is only out for his personal gain?

Yes, it has.

You are my darkness.

I am your light.

I cannot leave you and you will not leave me

No matter how much I wish for it...

For I am bound to you.

You are me and I am you.

I cannot escape this binding contract of which was forced onto me.

You take me over, you force your way into my mind, my body.

I cannot do anything about it…why can't you let me be?

I do all your dirty work, and yet you never stop to think

Of all the things you have done

And how they were horrible, cruel, and wicked.

I could not leave you even if I tried.

You do not have to stop me.

There is no way because I am trapped in your game of revenge and pain.

Must I stay this way forever?

With you right here, ready to use me whenever you please?

Ready to tear my world apart and ruin my life only for yourself?

Yes.

For I am bound to you

In body, soul, spirit, and mind.
