Howard and Bernadette get to apartment 4A while Leonard and Penny are in the kitchen.

"We need help with Halley" Bernadette starts

"Why are you asking for our help?" Leonard asks

"Well for the last 14 years I've seen you taking care of Sheldon. And you" points to Penny" I've seen you taking care of him for the last 10. What's your secret?" Howard asks

"There's no secret. You just need to know what he wants. But don't forget Sheldon is an adult. Not a child." Leonard points out

"I've seen you taking him to the train store because he was mad at you. And you take him to the doctor, to work, and everywhere else he needs to go, even though he has Amy now. You take care of him. He's like your kid. So… How do you do it?" Bernadette asks

"Patience. You have to know their weakness. Know what they love. And, probably the most important, you do what they want but with boundaries. The last one took a while with Sheldon and Amy doesn't hold him very well on that area but she's getting there. And communication. That's the key. "Leonard stated

"And always have something in the car, like a coloring book, in case you take a while in a store. And crack the window open a little bit." Penny said smiling a little bit

"And sing to her whenever she needs to fall asleep. We do that with Sheldon. Something else that Amy can't do. She always calls us to do that." Leonard had a small smile while saying that

Bernadette, the one that was writing everything, got up and before closing the door just said:

"And you think you aren't ready to be parents? Think again!" She smiled at them and left with Howard behind nodding and smiling.

"They're not wrong you know?" Penny says

"Seriously Penny? Again with that conversation?" Leonard was clearly tired of that conversation. He wanted kids but he wasn't sure if he and Penny wanted them because Bernadette and Howard had or because they thought it was time.

"Yes, Leonard! 'Again with that conversation!'" She says before sitting down and signaling Leonard to sit next to her. He sat down and looked at her. Before she was able to say a word he started

"Look, I want kids but are you sure it's the right moment?"

"If not now than when?"

"You wanted to be an actress Penny. Are you going to follow that dream now or are you going to wait until we have kids? I mean a lot of famous people have kids some even before their famous…"

"Shhh… Forget acting. It used to be something I loved to do but the other day I went to an audition and I didn't like to be there. I don't like to do that anymore. I'm ready to be a mom. Are you ready to be a dad?" Penny asked, nervously

"Well… Yeah I am." Leonard smiled

"Really?!"

"Yes."

And that was how a simple conversation between a couple that had no idea how to take care of a kid and a couple who wasn't sure if they were ready to have kids ended up with 2 couples that had no idea how to look after kids. But it was ok because it might take a village but they had it.
