Nothing's Wrong
"So what was it?" Dean said groggily, starting to sit up. Sam pushed back down on the hospital bed.
"It was nothing." Sam said quickly. Too quickly…
Dean looked at his side. "I don't understand, you said you got out the bullet… what other metal object could it be?"
Sam fidgeted under Dean's paranoid gaze. "What a weird infection, too…"
"Boy were we lucky the doctor got it out." Sam said trying to be causal.
The Doctor walked in cheerfully. "Looks like we got that GPS chip out, no problem."
Sam flinched. Dean remained silent, and Sam was thankful for the pain killers Dean was on. Maybe he'd even forget about it…
"Thanks doc," Dean said coldly, "when can we go?"

One week later. Still no reaction. Sam thanked his lucky stars.
And then he was waking up in the hospital. He looked over at Dean who was causally flipping through some dull magazine in the chair beside him. "You had an accident." Dean said bluntly.
Sam remembered. Walking down the library stairs he'd …fallen.
"You got cut up real bad." Dean didn't even look up. "Fell on a shelf."
Sam looked at his arms with purple bruising the scratches. "Okay, if you say so."
Dean threw the magazine down. "Are you ready to go?"
Sam nodded. "Alright," Dean eyed him warily, "I'll go talk to the nurse. And don't scratch your stitches."
Stitches? Sam gasped. Dean wouldn't!
Out of Sam's eyesight, Dean grinned.
Sam never had to know the truth.
