Claws and Spells

Phoebe Halliwell was walking down a crowded street, shopping bags clutched in her arms.

It was a sunny Saturday afternoon and the middle Halliwell sister had spent half her money for new clothes and make-up over the last three hours. She stopped at a bench, sank down next to the man next to her and sat the bags on the ground. Phoebe was almost dying of thirst, so she quickly grabbed one of the bags and began to hectically rummage in it for the half empy bottle of water.

When she finally found it and was about to empty it completely, she heard a quiet snikt from her right. She looked up at the man next to her and grabbed his wrists in alarm.

The silent snikt she had heard before, had been his big metal claws as they were extended.

The man narrowed his eyes at her and growled. She hastily released his wrists but still looked at him accusingly.

''What?!'', he snapped.

''You can't extend those claws in the middle of a crowded street!''

''Why not? No one's looking.'', he justified himself and then added thoughtfully, ''And why the hell aren't you scared?!''

Phoebe sighed and then told him in a rapid speed, ''I'm a witch. One of the Charmed Ones and I'm not scared of those ... things because I heard about mutants which I assume you're one of. Pleased ?''

The man frowned.

''Witches?''

''Yes, witches. We have magical powers and save innocents. So, are you a mutant?''

He nodded his hairy head in response and after a few seconds, held out his big hand.

Phoebe shook it with a smile. ''I'm Phoebe. Phoebe Halliwell.''

''Logan, or Wolverine.''

''Wolverine?'', she asked sceptically.

''My code name.'', he answered in a deep tone.

''Oh. So, what are your ... powers?''

''Well, those claws, healing-'

''Urgh, that healing made it really hard to vanish Cole.'', she muttered but Logan seemed to have heard her and stopped abruptly. ''Who's Cole?''

''Erm, my ex husband.'', she replied nervously.

Logan looked amused. ''You vanish your ex husband ?''

''Er, well, that one, yes. He was the Source of all evil and he -he made me his queen.''

Logan raised an eye brow and Phoebe quickly added ''Just for a short time, then we vanished him. So, you weren't finished counting your powers, were you?''

,,No. The last is advanced senses.''

There seemed click something in Phoebe's head. ''Oh! Oh ...''

He grinned. ''So, what are yours, darlin'?''

She smiled at the name he had given her.

,,I have the ability to get premonitions of the past, the present and the future, I can levitate and I'm an empath that means I can feel your emotions and copy your powers.''

Logan nodded impressed. ''What do you think about you and me taking a walk?''
