I cradle you in my arms, this tiny pink bundle of life that I helped create, and some thing inside me feels so awed that I can do little but smile. I made you, for nine months you lay growing inside of me and now your here and I can hardly believe it.
A door opens but I ignore it, too intent on counting your fingers again, you shuffle in your sleep and I rock you gently,
"how you feeling?" that's your Daddy little one, he's been quite so he won't wake you,
"wonderful" I sigh
He pulls his chair closer peering at you over your blankets, the same look of awe on his face that he's worn for months. He's going to be such a good father, I just know it, he love's you so much.
"So have you thought of a name?" he asks and I smile
"not yet, I thought she was a boy" he chuckles at that "what about you?"
"I had one idea"
"was it lonely?" I tease, he frowns at me and I giggle that makes him happy, he thinks I don't smile enough,
"Prudence"
"hmm?"
"I thought Prudence" I think it over watching you, it seems to fit some how,
"Prudence, I like it" he smiles at me, well beams really, and takes my hand
"are we interrupting?" Robin leans around the door
"no come in" I smile a welcome as he, Star and Cyborg enter laden down with flowers, chocolates and balloons,
"Raven, BeastBoy congratulations!" Starfire whispers excitedly
"yeah man well done" Cy claps your father on the back grinning while Robin kisses my cheek and I feel complete right now, this is our family my little one and you are very welcome to it.
