The Haunting
The
maddening circles of the brain
By haunted dreams possessed
Alludes
to truths in shattered glass.
A broken faces caressed
By shards
of razors, smils and sneers,
Lies down destroyed by countless
years.
I watched him give himself away
To that white drug,
delicious drug--
Shatter no more, my brilliant beam!
Here shall
I stay, stay, stay.
And in my dream...
By God and by the
grace of Night,
The smell of Cream, the sound of leaves,
The
woven tummult of your hair,
The captivation--he who grieves
In
silence and in sanctioned pain
Knows his own death, yet walks
again.
