A/N: This is a oneshot crossover between Chuck and I Dream of Jeannie. I was watching a few episodes and Captain Nelson reminded me of Casey so i wrote a short piece. Maybe at some point in the future I'll write a full blown story but this is it for now.
This will be move to the crossover section at a later date.
"I can't, I-"
"Casey? Who are you talking to?" Chuck bounced down the steps into Castle. "I didn't know you smoked."* Wispy, white smoke was hanging in the air in front of Casey and seemed to be moving into the coffee thermos that was sitting on the glass table.
"Uh, yeah, bad habit." The colonel seemed distracted as he picked up the thermos and a few papers.
"Well, about the mission," Chuck continued, "are you sure you want to go through with it? 'Cause you know I would feel awful if anything-"
"Can it Bartowski." Casey whirled around to face him, "I'm going to do it." Chuck quirked an eyebrow when the thermos almost fell out of his hands for no apparent reason. "I want to see those men behind bars again almost as much as you want to see your mother." He had the conviction in his voice of someone who had been bothered about a decision for hours. "I have to go make sure my dress blues are ready." With that, he stalked off.
ooooo
Back in his apartment, Casey threw the papers on a table haphazardly, but set the thermos down gently. "Ever since that emergency landing..." he grumbled under his breath. "Get out here." He spoke much louder this time.
Smoke poured out of the silver thermos and solidified into a beautiful blonde woman in Persian silks, her face marred only by a frown.
"Now look, you can't be jumping around in front of Chuck, no matter what. I'm going on this mission and you throwing a fit isn't going to stop me."
"But Master," Jeannie protested, "I can't let you put yourself in such danger! You won't be able to defend yourself if something goes wrong." She crossed her arms and glared at him with puppy dog eyes that made it seem like she was pouting.
"Jeannie, it'll be alright. You just wait and see, I'll be fine." She opened her mouth to speak but the TV clicked on and she'd blinked away before General Beckman's picture even showed up on screen.
ooooo
In Casey's bedroom Jeannie hid in the front pocket of his dress uniform. She'd met him when he was only a captain and wasn't going to lose him now. If he had to go, she was going with him.
ooooo
At the church, she'd almost screamed when one man stabbed Casey and another burned him, and she wasn't even the one being hurt! But she knew it would've spoiled their mission and her secrecy if she had.
When these same men were about to cut off his arm though, she was at the front of the building in the blink of an eye, literally, and rang the doorbell disguised as a pizza deliveryman.
When Casey collapsed in front of the dumpster she blinked him into it. Then she waited with him to make sure he was safe until his friends got there.
His friends may never know it, but Colonel Casey isn't quite as self-reliant as he seems to be.
*Casey disses smoking in the episode Chuck vs. The Wookie but smokes a cigar in Chuck vs. the Ring
