Hi! I know that this story is INCREDIBLY short (415 words), but I figured you guys needed something to read. It was a small plot bunny that came along and bit me (ouch!). Oh well, I hope you like it. The beginning quote is by Shina Desu (I think). It is on my front page though. (:
As usual, Naruto and company don't belong to me, because if I did, there would be a lot of changes in the manga. For starters, Naruto wouldn't be so dense and would know by now that Hinata's in love with him. (:
What makes a memory so precious is the fact that it can never happen again no matter how much you wish for it...
Sakura hissed in anger as she read those words. "Lies! All lies! It can happen again!" She threw the book she was reading at the opposite wall and preceded to cry. It had been six years since Sasuke had left the village, six years of utter misery. They had tried to get Sasuke and they had failed. He simply wasn't going to come home.
But Sakura wasn't going to let him go. Her dreams were filled with memories of what she shared with Sasuke. Every waking moment was spent trying to avoid things and places she had shared with Sasuke, though it was virtually impossible.
She knew what her friends were saying behind her back. Naruto was muttering his worries for her with a patient Hinata listening, and Tsunade-shishou was worriedly whispering with Shizune. Sakura knew what she was doing, what her condition was. It was something called depression. She wanted to protect herself from the pain she was experiencing. Her body was just a shell, her mind was off searching for Sasuke.
Finished crying, Sakura picked up the book lovingly, put it away, climbed into bed, and turned off the light. In moments she was asleep, softly crying for someone who was never going to come home. Outside the window was a perfectly bright moon with the shades pulled back.
Then, in no time at all, the room darkened. A figure was sitting on the window sill, looking down at Sakura. Softly, the window slid open, and the figure vanished, only to reappear on the floor next to her bed. One of the figure's hands reached over and wiped Sakura's tears away.
"Sakura," he whispered softly. "Why are you crying?" She suddenly shifted, causing him to vanish to the ceiling. Realizing that she was still asleep, he slid down the wall to her bed.
"Sasu…ke…kun…?" Sakura mumbled, causing him to freeze. "I…eat…? Oh…I see…" Slowly he relaxed, understanding that she was still sleeping. "I…love…you…! Come home… please?"
His hand stroked her cheek. He looked at her face, and smiled a small smile. Sasuke leaned down and kissed her lips. "I'm already home," he whispered in her ear.
