Years of acting had given Great Britain insight into human behavior. Therefore, it was easy for him to identify how their group was dealing with... well, everything.

Joe Shimamura was something of a unique case: as their newest member, the pain of what had been done to him was still palpable. However, he seemed to gaining some comfort from the considerably older (not that you could tell by looking at her) Francoise Arnoul. She had been the Black Ghost's lab rat for decades, and had every right to be as bitter about it as Heinrich and Jet... but she wasn't. Britain wasn't sure if it was some inner strength or Joe's influence was just as good on her as hers was on him, but she was happier these days than he had ever seen her.

The taciturn Geronimo had been harder to peg at first, but he seemed to find contentment helping Doctor Gilmore tend his garden. And as for Pyunma... from what little he knew about the poor lad's past, living in the middle of a war had been the norm for him. However, on the mornings Chang forced him up early to shop (because the crowds were thinner, and it was easier to spot bargains, he said), Britain had spotted a young man swimming in the oceans nearby the house.

Ivan... Britain had learned long ago that it wasn't a good idea to think about Ivan's condition. He seemed happy enough, though.

Jet Link was also a unique case. Everyone else had found some way to cope, but Jet seemed to almost relish not coping. It seemed he was always angry about something, which was why Britain was so glad Albert Heinrich had, for lack of a better term, taken him under his wing... for Heinrich's sake as much as Jet's. None of them had easy lives, but Heinrich's made Hamlet look like slapstick comedy. Maybe he'd find some measure of peace helping Jet find some measure of peace... provided Jet didn't make him pop a vessel in the process. Even Albert's patience had to have a limit.

And as for himself, the actor turned drunkard turned lab experiment turned freedom fighter turned aspiring playwright...

"Great Britain!" Chang's face was red with fury. "Those dishes won't wash themselves! And I'm sick of finding Shakespeare next to my cutting board!"

His favorite method of coping involved aggravating a certain Chinese chef.
