Darkness

A box surrounds,
And darkness fills you,
You feel your soul slip away.
The sadness consumes you,
Coursing through your veins.
The anger around you,
The loneliness within you,
Takes all the happiness away.
You feel the darkness
Course through your body,
Taking control yet again.
Despair overwhelms you
And the dark feelings carry you away.
As you adjust to them,
You feel the remains
Of your soul slip away.
And you make no effort to control
The satisfaction that you feel
From the loss of the only way
To bring you back again
From the depths of darkness
That fill your mind
With feelings uncontrollably strong.
And you feel the loneliness that enters
From the darkness that accompanies the knowledge
That you're lost
In consuming darkness.
