Hello, few notes before the actual story begins:

Eve is Sherlock's and Mycroft's little sister. She's about 23 years old and just finished university.

Lestrade isn't in this chapter yet, because I wanted to give Eve a proper intro before I start writing in the romance.

Please enjoy and please review :), I would really appreciate good and constructive comments.

There she was, 221 B Baker street.

'Thanks' she says and waves to the cabbie as he drives off into the darkness of the night.

It's been quite a while since Eve saw her brother. He never came to visit whens she was at uni and she didn't want to come 'round with the holidays because family gathering with her brothers was never pleasant. It's been a year since she saw him, well almost a year.

It's been 2 months since she received the text.

Hello, how are you
doing at university.
Sherlock

'He never does that,' she thought to herself. She knew he didn't really care about her answer, but replied anyhow. It was a nice gesture and she did really miss speaking to him.

I'm fine, thank you
for asking. How are
you. Love, Eve

After tons of rewrites she sends that. She wanted to say, 'I miss you' or 'It's really nice to hear from you', but that would show how she actually felt, and if there anything she would never do is show her true colours to her brothers.
The text was very inpersonal, but she didn't want it any other way. She heard about John and the investigations and that her mother was mad at him for his behaviour last christmas. Normally it wouldn't have bothered him that mother was mad about his behaviour, but this John must have had something to do with it.

After the 2 texts they kept in contact over the last 2 months, she would ask him about the investigations and he would ask her about uni. They weren't really interested what the other had to say, but they listened and replied. It worked for them.

And then about a week ago she got a text saying:

If you need a
place to stay in
London you can
stay with me.

street, London.
