Goodnight, Starlight
JounouchixRyou The beauty outside paled in comparison to what he felt that night.
A/N: The title is from a song by The Juliana Theory 3 It's prettyful and the band is awesome. And it should be noted I do horribly at titles, thus I borrow X3;

Moonlight kissed slated roofs, glazing it with a surreal luminescence.
Dappled starlight adorned the velvet sky, as a silky haze encompassed the streets after the rain.
Clouds still remained, yet a clear view, an area just enough to see the crystalline view at the night sky - fit to be encapsulated in tapestries and storybook pages
But that's not what Ryou Bakura was paying attention to, but the all-encompassing scent, something like vanilla and night breeze and desire mixed into one.
And the pounding of his own heart, as this luminous night was about to end, their 'first date' - though it was an unspoken thing, as to protect the other boy's pride.
Of course, it would be easily explained, a visit with a friend, studying, all the familiar excuses so often spoken. Such things would 'cause trouble, and he didn't want to be trouble.
Only the stars knew their secret, and it was they kept as they watched silently, perhaps waiting for children's wishes and to watch lovers, such as these.
And an waiting glace between the two, Jounochi's hands seeking comfort in golden tresses to hide embarrassment.
Finally, after a few awkward moments spent outside the door, they compromised with a hug.
And that was when Ryou found himself encompassed within the paradise that he was experiencing, of hearing. His heart thundered in his chest, so much surely, he thought, Jounochi could hear.
And he laid his head upon the other boys bony shoulders for a moment, Closing his eyes to allow the paradise to last a moment longer, just a bit more of this, just one more taste of heaven before it faded, disappeared like all happiness does.
Outside, the stars shone with an untold beauty, but Ryou did not care about stars or astral beauty, only the beauty within himself, the warmth he held close as the door closed, ending the night and the resplendent dream that he was bound to wake from.
But then, then was a time for foolish dreaming and memories of paradise, or something like it.
Perhaps, happiness existed somewhere between foolish passions and dreaming and yearning and the inherent disillusionment that came with broken dreams and failed attempts to fly.
The stars watched on. Knowing only then that an unspoken wish had been answered. And this time, perhaps this time, it would stay.
Perhaps.
