Rose crouched behind the Doctor as he hazarded a glance over the stone balustrade. Beams of brightly coloured laser light flashed overhead. Rose thought they looked like cheap special effects, but wasn't prepared to risk finding out otherwise.
"Not the best hiding place, then," the Doctor said in cheery understatement as he took Rose's hand and led her back along the hall.
"Did you know we'd end up smack in the middle of a coup?"
"Not exactly." He ducked back as another blast threatened to remove his head and glanced at Rose with an enthusiastic grin. "Fun though, isn't it?"
