For a Smile
A Jane & Lisbon Story
Written by Brown Eyes Parker
Summery:
All it took was a smile. . . based on "Don't Stop Believing" (the Glee version). Takes place during "Red-Line", kind of like a tag scene.
Dedicated to:
My Siblings, especially Hannah. . . because she thought this story was one of the most beautiful stories I have ever written

All it took was a smile, andshewas climbing into the car to go who-knew-where with Jane as her guide.
All it took was a smile, and he was opening up to her over dinner about his past. Telling her things that he hadn't even ever told his wife. . . like how he hadn't always liked lying to people. How he had despised cheating them out of their money. He told her how and when he had fallen away from him good intentions, and how it was an easy road back to them.
All it took was a smile, and she told him what instrument she played in high school.
All it took was a smile, and dinner dragged into dessert. Then a second glass of wine, and a fourth cup of tea.
All it took was a smile, and he took her to a nightclub to dance.
All it took was a smile, and she requested that the DJ play More than Words. . . trying to recreate their first slow dance.
All it took was a smile and he almost kissed her.
All it took was a smile and she almost kissed him.
All it took was a smile and their lives were changed forever. (What made the smile so different from other one's, they didn't know.)
All it took was a smile, and he lost his heart to her. (He wouldn't let on though. Oh no, not when Red John was still at large.)
All it took was a smile, and she lost her heart to him. (But she wouldn't let on. Oh no, not when it was at risk of getting broken.)
All it took was a smile, and didn't speed on the way home. . . he took it slowly, wanting to savor every moment left with her.
All it took was a smile, and she would have let him burn rubber if he desired to do so. She would have let him drive Daytone 500 speeds, if he so desired.
All it took was a smile, and they both had the best nights of their lives.
I've seen her in a smokey room
I smell of wine and cheap perfume
For a smile they can share the night
It goes on and on and on
Author's Note:
I wrote this story the day after "Red-Line" premiered. For a smile, they can share the night was playing over and over again in my night. And it got me to thinking, if Jane HADN'T smiled at Lisbon, we probably wouldn't have gotten the ending that we did. . . so, this was born. I hope you enjoyed it. I enjoyed writing it. I put my heart and soul into this story actually, so their's a piece of me missing now. Sometimes that happens with my stories.
