CHAPTER 1. THE SURPRISE INITIATE
"New York huh. Not much of a change, is it?" I said as I left the tarmac. I brushed the hair out of my eyes as a gust of cold air decided to torment me. The names Quinn, being from Minnesota, I'm used to the cold in the winter. But I'v been monologuing long enough. "So, I'm supposed to find a warehouse that apparently has a mansion on it. Ugh, this will take a while". After walking for a bit a I heard something behind me. These two guys were shifting into some weird one third dinosaur, one third leopard, one third snake (which I would later learn was called a Tjesu heru). Their huge heads lashed out, without thinking I stuck out my left hand and a brownish gray bubble covered me. "What the hell?" I was about to say when someone beat me to it. When I looked up there was a giant half eagle, half hummingbird thing in the sky. But the weirdest part was that someone was actually riding the damn thing. He had short black hair like me but his skin was the color of cocoa. "I'll take care of these things" he said as I swear to any gods that will listen he pulled a sword out of thin air. He did'nt say a word as he hacked the snake monsters to pieces. It wasn't until the snakes were ribbons until he looked back at me "So, another new initiate, lets get you back to..." he stopped mid sentence when he looked at some symbols imprinted on the barrier "Sadie, I think you should look at this" "Brother dear, are you just going to stand here and not help the poor guy"a blond haired girl slipped off the the eagle/hummingbird hynbrids back and walked over to were we were and too stopped and looked at her brother, she looked scared "Carter, the heiroglyph's there""Yes". He then turned back to me "May I ask your name and why your here?" "The name's Quinn Outerio and I came from Minneapolis, Minnesota to look for the Brooklyn House and the Kane siblings. Your them, as who I'm guessing is your sister called you Carter" "That's right, Quinn we have to ask you something very important" he took a deep breath, almost like he didn't know what to saw but Sadie saved him as she asked me the one thing we weren't ready for.
