I Bet Your Laughing Now

By: George Weasley

I bet you're laughing now

Wherever you may be.

Now, I'm the one to call you holy

Just as you called me.

It's going to be so hard

Without you by my side.

Feeding off each other's lines

With Wit only You could find.

And I bet your laughing now

At what a teary git I've turned out to be

Now that you have gone

Unable to suppress these tears from me.

But, here I am, smiling all the same

Because I know that your still here with me

In my efforts to cheer up Mum,

In joking to Percy of what a true Git he used to be,

In mending everyone's pain with the same laughter you used to give me.

And I bet you are still here laughing now

As I make a fool of myself without you

In running errands for our Joke shop

With only one joke and not a spare

Not four hands but just a pair.

But no worries because I'll just do double the work

I'll try twice as hard in your memory to make you proud without so much a quirk.

And actually, I can hear your laughter right now

Through the empty void of where you used to be

It echoes out from my quivering voice

That resonates your high of life energy in cackles

Giving me the courage to continue on and see

The pain from your loss replaced with laughter

As I'm sure you'd wish it to be.

So, Fred, continue laughing up there

Continue smiling wide

Continue with all the wit and jokes

That we could never hide

For even though I'm here without you

And you without me

We'll have eachother always

In all the smiles we weave
