I'm back on my Pokemon story poems!
So far, it has been Trapinch, Absol, Manaphy, Altaria and Feebas. Now I'm trying something different, two Pokemon we all probably don't know much about: Volbeat and Illumise. This is about their short lives, and the dance they do together over the lake, before they mate, then die.
Dancing
Dancing over the moonlit lake
Under the soft silver light
Between the earth and the heavens
Courting
Dancing the dance of love
Around the stars, around each other
Dizzying, exhilarating
Searching
Searching for the one that calls our hearts
The one who is destined for us
The one we will spend our lives with
So fragile
Our lives are so short, transient,
Delicate like our silken wings
Every day a journey towards death
But for new life
We search, we search for a partner
To share our short lives with,
So our race can live on
And at the end, we die.
All our life departs in a breath,
All our strength, our dance wavers, stops
We fade, fade…
Mating, death, all that will come later.
For now, at this very moment,
All that matters is the dance.
So we dance our hearts out
Dance for love, for joy, for life
Patterns shining against the night,
Under the glowing moon
And as long as we dance it well,
We do not have to care for the future.
What did you think of this one? It was very much rushed. I did it during the fire drill our school had on Total Defence Day (the day when we people from Singapore remember our fall to the Japanese...). It was done in approximately 15 minutes, so...sorry about the rushed-ness of it.
