'Ring! Ring! Ring!' School was finally over. Mikan dragged her feet out of her classroom as she thought about her future at her new school. Just then, two of her classmates came running to her. "Mikan-chan! Bad news! There are some people wearing black that are heading towards the staff room! They must be discussing about when the school will shut down!" the two girls said loudly, while panting heavily. "What?! No way! I will not allow them to shut this school!" Having said that, Mikan ran down the hallway and went to the staffroom, followed by the two other girls.

"Why is Hotaru there? What are they discussing about?" Mikan whispered to the two girls. They were hiding somewhere just outside the staffroom. They had realised that barging into the staffroom straight would result in the teachers punishing them, thus they hid. "Isn't Hotaru your best friend? Did she tell you anything?" one of the girls asked Mikan. "No," Mikan answered, while thinking of the times when Hotaru just transferred to the village school. Hotaru was very quiet and did not manage to make much friends. However, Hotaru still asked Mikan to be her friend. That made Mikan really happy. Although Hotaru remained calm, cool and unapproachable, but Mikan still enjoyed her time with Hotaru. Thinking of the past made Mikan feel nostalgic and she failed to be aware of her surroundings. Hotaru was wearing another school's uniform. Soon, Hotaru walked out of the staffroom with the men clad in black, and the men led Hotaru to a long black limousine. Hotaru's parents were at the scene too, they were both crying, for a reason that Mikan doesn't know.

"Hotaru, where... are you go..ing?" Mikan stuttered, feeling the sadness from Hotaru's parents.
"I'm transferring to Gakuen Alice." Hotaru replied calmly.
"What?! You never told me about this..." Mikan replied, as tears gathering, ready to flow.
" I just didn't want you to act like a baby and cry everyday. Anyway, I'm leaving. I'll be back for the holidays so we can still meet each other," Hotaru assured Mikan.

Mikan, left speechless, just watched Hotaru walked into the limousine, which drove away immediately.

A few days later, an announcement was made. The school will longer shut down. Mikan was still upset about Hotaru leaving, but she could not help to wonder what solution the school had applied to stop the school from shutting down.
