The Questions Left Unasked
a/n I was really inspired by Crowley's speech about how the boys justify their lives with the people they saved. I tried to write and well, this happened. i hope y'all enjoy it.
Who'll be the last die,
For all the mistakes we've made?
Some bigger
Some smaller
Who'll dig that last grave?
Who'll be the last to pay,
For the suffering we've caused?
Dead mothers
Absent fathers
Who'll see what we saw?
Who'll be the last to bear witness,
For everyone's safety, but their own?
The horrors
The terror
Who'll know what we've known?
Who'll be the last to cry,
From all the pain that we bring?
Shaking chins
Watery eyes
Who'll sob at our sins?
Who'll be the last to forget,
One day there, the next gone?
Out of sight
Out of mind
Who'll hear our swan song?
And who'll be the first to remember
For somebody has to know
All the lives
That we've saved
Out here on the road.
