I push these thoughts away and give in to the desire. Blood fills my stomach until I can barely feel your pulse beneath me. I'm scared. I don't want to lose you. I'm certain your plan didn't work and a bloody tear slides down my cheek. It falls into the pool already surrounding us. Suddenly I feel like I'm drowning in it.

But then something happens, your hand it moves and reaches out to grab mine. It's cold... I feel my heart surge with hope and I look to your face. It's pale but just as beautiful In death as it was in life. The corners of your mouth turn upwards and a small smile graces your lips. Your voice hits me with the force of a thousand fists.

"I love you."

Those three words have been uttered countless times before but hearing them now in this moment, they never felt more sincere. I let out the breath I had been holding and pull you into a hug. I'm crying hysterically but it doesn't matter it worked and your "alive".
