Richard Lonny Deakins
When he was a child Richards was a Mommy's boy. He loves his dad even looks like him, but he is closer to his mom. His blonde hair and figure is the reflection of James. But one day his feelings changed and on that day they really talked with each other and he could tell his father everything.
Dick is rarely impulsive; he always thinks things over three times, before he does it. As an engineer, he knows that it is important to do it this way. With his work he wants to change the world. When his company built the first skyscraper in Manhattan where every surface was a solar module he knew he was on his way.
When he was sixteen, he felt in love. He felt in love with Bobby Goren, the great Robert Goren, the best Detective of his father's unit. He known him for a few years, since he was a little boy, but at a barbeque as Bobby smiled to him, his heart melted and his mind flew away.
But in this point he wasn't impulsive about it. Dick knew that he was gay since he was twelve and kissed Ronny the boy next door. His feelings for Bobby grew and grew and he thought he was going to lose his mind. So one day he just visited the tall Detective, the friend of his father, the man, who was 25 years older. This talk he rehearsed one hundred times, with the mirror and with Lou his dog. Richard stood in Bobby's doorway and at the same moment he said, that he loved him, he knew he had no chance, never. Bobby let him come in. They talked the whole day. Bobby was the first who knew that Dick was coming out, and Dick was the first to know that Bobby was in love with Alexandra Eames.
Eventually though he broke his life of caution and one single day he was impulsive. He just took Peter by his hand. He rang at the door and as his dad opened it, he kissed Peter in front of his Dad. Dick would never forget the expression of Jimmy's face. Years later, as Peter and he are a real family with Joe and Carl, their twins, they laugh about this moment. Peter is his true love. As he met him, he knew the feelings for Bobby were just the crush of a horny teenager. He found his Peter, like Bobby found his Alex.
