The war is raging on and I don't know if I can survive much longer. This war has now become an endless fight for freedom.
Early one morning I had been awakened by an evil, annoying sound. "Wake up, Cali! Wake up!" Stella yelled in my ear.
I thought to myself that I really didn't want to get up, but after all I was the daughter of a queen so I had to. "Go away Stella and give me a few minutes." I tried to go back asleep, knowing that I would wake up in about ten minutes.
"No! Now! Come on, mom will get mad if you don't get up again." Her voice is like a ringing noise that won't go away.
"Alright, alright, I'm up. See?" I got out of bed and stretched as far as I could.
"See, that wasn't so hard, now was it Cali?" I stared at my sister for awhile and then angrily took her by the arm and shoved her out of my room. Finally, alone again. I walked over to my windows and opened the curtains. It was beautiful outside, the sun was coming up, and the birds started to sing. I had the most perfect view of the forest down below. Some day I'll escape from Naressia and start out in a new place, where I won't be awakened by my sister. I love my sister, but she gets on my nerves. Stella is just like my mom only a little nicer. After my dad died, everything changed. Running away from home would mean that I've turned my back on the Queen. I've never gotten along with my mom. I'm more like my father. The one secret that my mom has made me keep is that she killed my father. I saw her stab him with his own sword. She only did it so she could rule the kingdom. I'll eventually have my revenge, but I can't do so living here. I have to leave this evil place. I thought for a moment, and then started towards my closet. I picked out a few things and got what I needed. I headed back for my window. As I was throwing a rope down from the window Stella came back in.
"What are you doing Cali?" I looked at her and then at the rope.
"I'm leaving; I want to start somewhere fresh." Stella had tears flowing down her cheeks now.
"Don't…go," Stella whimpered. When I heard this, tears gathered in my eyes. I turned my back to her. I didn't want to see her cry.
"I have to; the village doesn't need me anymore." Now, Stella was sobbing her eyes out.
"Please…I…I love you." I was hoping Stella wouldn't say those words, because now it makes my departure even harder.
"I love you too." I climbed over the window and started down the rope. As I was going down I could still hear Stella crying. When my feet had touched the ground, I ran into the forest, not looking back.
