t's not like she has never been there before. As kid she visited fair share of museums and art exhibitions, because Ed thought it will help her understand people more. 'Art is how people express themselves and their emotions, without saying a word' he used to say.
At first she had no idea what he meant. It's not possible to tell other people about your emotions, without using as much as a word, is it? But as she grew older and she became more and more in awe how other people's paintings made her feel. He was right. She doesn't need to know what emotion is to feel it, because wherever she looks at paintings she just stares and understands.
The real reason why they are here is because guy she stitched into was probably killed during art robbery that happened to take place here. Apparently he was custodian and saw someone stealing 40000$ worth piece and one of the suspects is guess not… the director of the museum himself.
As she goes there she can't help, but wait for Cameron's usual 'Are you sure it's a good idea?' that never comes. Something has changed between them, be it unconditional mutual trust or maybe both of them feeling like they are actual partners, she doesn't know. But it's definitely something that makes her smile. It's change for the better, not worse.
"Why are you smiling?" he asks.
"It's just… something I thought." Her smile grows wilder. "You've changed. For better."
"Me? How?" he seems surprised and it's just ridiculous how adorable it makes him look.
"You grew braver. I remember the first time we've done something like that. You were asking me if it's good idea and wanted to flee from that place as soon as possible. Now it's different. You follow me everywhere I go, no matter how dangerous it is. Never even once you've asked me if I am crazy or anything like that since… " her voice breaks a little. "… since you died."
She sees he catches that sadness in her eyes, but hopes it won't be something that will ruin the mood. She wants to have fun today (why not chase murderers and admire art with Cameron at the same time?) and she will be dammed if her own stupidity will make it impossible.
To her relief he chooses to ignore it and lightens the mood with "Well then, I guess we both learn from each other, right Stretch?"
"I guess we do." Her smile is back.
2 hours later the museum's director is being arrested by Fisher and Kirsten with Cameron both stay until the evening to admire the art. They point to their favorites and she just understands. It's like silent agreement between both of them saying: we don't need words. We are art itself.
