There's nothing in this world that we can see the same.
What each of us sees is that which the other can't understand.
What each of us experienced, the other experienced the opposite.
When one of us says "Black," the other can only say "White."
Is this really true?
Are we really so different that's the only way to describe us?
When I see you I see only sorrow.
You have lived a life filled with locks and chains.
You have seen things no other being could keep their eyes open to.
I marvel at your strength to keep going.
By thinking this is it really so wrong?
Is it really so wrong to want you…to be you, at least for me?
I can hardly bare to look at the hope you give.
You have lived a life filled with joy and emotion.
You will bare the weight of a world on your shoulders if you must.
I can only admit awe at how you smile through all hardships.
By wanting what I want am I tainted?
Wanting your smile to be for me when I can't return it?
Everyone says we see back to back.
They say we will never see eye to eye.
Yet that's all we can do…see each other's eyes staring.
Our gazes filled only with what each other have lived.
With our pasts at our backs are we so wrong?
Are we so wrong to think this way?
