Why torture yourself when life'll do it for you? ~Author Unknown

Chapter One:

The thing about Detroit is that it's never ignored. When new people first come here, they get scared. We're the only major city- and state- to lose people every time the Census rolls around. We've got cruddy schools, streets and lives. You're either filthy rich and go to a private school or you're poor as shit and go to a public school. It doesn't exactly scream "Come live here!"

And yet, you can't help but defend it. It's your turf. Sure, it made but crappy, but it's still yours.

That's what they tell you in our textbooks. They're damn stupid. Damn liars. They think we can be changed. They're wrong. It's in our blood. Punching someone, smoking, drinking- it's as natural as breathing.

Welcome to Trouble City. New York has nothing on us. This is our town, and if hell starts creeping up on us, it'll enter America here.

We live in the past- you can always tell if a person's from Detroit based on how they react and how long they hold a grudge.

But then, why would the gods pick this place to redo?

Trust me, we're still trying to figure that out.

A/N: Okay, so that's my attempt at a Percy Jackson story hook. Tell me what you think and all. I'll try to add on to this, but only if I get some reviews… And by the way, I'm from Detroit, so I'm not just bashing a random city. And I love Detroit, so back off (haha, lot you guys!) PS: GO MICHIGAN STATE!
