So! I had a random idea to sort Doctor Who companions/general characters into extremely random categories, based on other fictional universes. FIRST UP! DISNEY PRINCESSES! (exclusively female companions) This is strictly based on personality/storyline. I'll do a later one based on looks if it's requested. Rose - Wendy (she's not really a princess, but Rose was reluctant to leave her family at first and saw nothing particularly special in life, like Wendy. Then the Doctor - Peter Pan to Wendy - came along and gave her an amazing opportunity, and she took it. Then Wendy was left waiting at the window, like Rose was - temporarily - without the Doctor in the parallel universe) Martha - Mulan (strange choice, you think? Not at all. Like Mulan, Martha signed up - sort of - to go on a new journey, but didn't find it very pleasant first. Exhibit A - Mulan's army training, Martha thinking that she's a 'rebound' while they're in the slums of New New Earth in Gridlock. But she enjoyed it after all. And both of them are fighters till the end - Exhibit B; Mulan saving China, Martha walking the earth and saving the world) Donna - Megara (sassy redhead in a lilac dress - a.k.a Donna in the episode Fires of Pompeii? Absolutely) Amy - Rapunzel (an enthusiastic young girl who wants to get out and see the world/the universe? No doubt there) Clara - Alice (not officially a princess, but come on. Her reactions to the new situations are certainly Alice-in-Wonderland-esque.
