A.N: Wow, well, this is a bit of a weird writing style, but I hope it doesn't spook you guys. Just imagine that the 'we' that's referred to in this story are two rabid Yama/Goku fangirls in disguise. o/

Disclaimer: Reborn!'s not mine, unfortunately. (And title credit goes to Silent Land Time Machine)

This thing this doesn't mean is nothing.

A lot of people don't think of Gokudera Hayato as a very thoughtful person. It's certainly not the first word that comes to mind when most people are asked to describe him:

'G-Gokudera-kun? He's kind of...volatile, isn't he?' Sawada Tsunayoshi says, somehow unable to stay in one place, his eyes and legs both jittery and nervous, as if expecting to have to flee at any moment. (Shouts of 'Tenth' and 'Boss' can be heard somewhere off in the distance)

'TO-LE-RATE' says an unknown baby in a cow-suit we come across (he's even wearing horns!), when he hears the sound of Gokudera Hayato's name.

'He's very...spontaneous', muses Sasagawa Kyoko and claps her hands together, quite like the school girl she is.

Her brother, Sasagawa Ryohei, provides a 'Gokudera is to the extreme!' and makes everything infinitely clearer.

And Hibari Kyouya, well, he doesn't say much at all. (With the exception of his usual greeting of 'I'll bite you to death!', but that's to be expected)

But when Yamamoto Takeshi is asked about Gokudera Hayato, he gets a glazed, faraway look in his eyes. And there's something else in those eyes too. Something other people would call affection. (Something Gokudera Hayato calls annoying)

He looks away a little.

'Gokudera? Hmm. He's...thoughtful. Considerate. At least when it comes down to us two hanging out at the baseball field after practice when everyone else has left.' A grin. 'Yeah, I'd say he puts a lot of consideration into unzipping my -'

'Oi, baseball freak, shut your fucking mouth!' Comes from around the corner of the school building Yamamoto Takeshi is currently leaning against.

Yamamoto brushes his short bangs away from his eyes, and smiles softly towards the the unknown intruder, basking in the sun's rays. Then he looks at us.

'Like I said; thoughtful.' Another smile. This time, it's like the sun.

And while shaking our hands in farewell, Yamamoto Takeshi's hands (and eyes and ears and breath) are already reaching out, finding Gokudera Hayato, and squeezing him tightly, tightly to his heart.
