Cloud stared. He couldn't help it really. I mean, who in their right mind goes food shopping and comes back with a four-foot tall metal chocobo?
"Aerith?" he called quietly, still staring warily at the metal bird, which was looking directly at him innocently.
"Yes?" she asked, putting away the bags of food she'd bought.
"Why is there an chocobo in the kitchen?"
She straightened up and fixed it with an amused look. "Oh, um…"
"It's mine," Leon announced as he stepped into the doorway.
Cloud looked at the other male with a raised eyebrow. "What's it doing in the kitchen?"
"I haven't found a spot for it yet," he answered with a shrug.
"You have to admit, it is rather cute though," Aerith giggled with a smile.
Cloud nodded slowly, trying to see the bird from the brunette male's point of view. He really just couldn't see it. "Why did you buy a chocobo?"
Leon smirked a bit and crossed his arms, leaning in the doorway. "It reminded me of you." He suddenly looked contemplative. "Maybe I'll put it in your room."
"Do it and die," Cloud snarled. "Either that or you'll find a lump of melted metal outside your bedroom door before tomorrow morning. That thing is creepy. It watches you!"
"Oh, stop being a drama queen Cloud," Aerith sighed as she put some food in the fridge. "It looks fine."
"Aerith, you know I have an issue with large birds and statues."
"Yes, and I think it's probably about time you got over it," she threw back with a sweet smile. "Honestly Cloud, it wasn't that embarrassing."
Leon threw a confused yet curious look in the direction of his two friends, which Cloud caught.
"Like hell I'm going to tell you," the blond snapped and stormed out of the kitchen, and away from the creepy looking eyes of the metal chocobo. The front door slammed shut behind him.
Both brunettes watched him go in amusement.
"I told you he'd have an issue with it," Aerith informed with an amused sigh.
"Which was precisely why I bought it," Leon replied with a smirk. Walking forward, he pulled Cid's araldite out of the bottom draw, picked up the metal chocobo, and headed for Cloud's bedroom. He was super gluing this thing to the floor of Cloud's bedroom whether the blond wanted him to or not. The entertainment value was too great to pass up, even though he knew he was going to have to watch his back and sleep with his gunblade beside the bed for the next month.
~The End~
Well, just a little humour. Mum bought back a metal emu from a spiritual fair a few weeks back, and this popped into my head. Tell me what you think. :)
