A/N: Prologue
Disclaimer: I do not own Legend of Korra.
Warning: Character death further into the story.
Korra felt guilt inside of her; she had felt it for two years, and she knew she was slipping into depression. Her parents had took her out of the town so she could escape from it.
But during that one year of supposed 'freedom', she felt heavier and heavier. Her happy facade at school was just that. She never let in anyone into her life, even her own parents don't even know what she's like to other people. They see only one side, the side of sadness.
She decided during the summer that she was going to have to face the music one day, to own up to her actions, no matter how innocent they were.
She knew one thing for certain; she had no need for affection or adoration. Even more than that, she didn't need love.
She had locked away that part of her heart and threw the keys away into the deepest part of her personal hell.
Here she was, the place where all of it started.
Ready as she could ever be, she would by the end of high school, overcome her darkest and tallest obstacle.
The only question in her mind was, Would anyone help me?
