Hey everyone!

Alright, one- It's great to be back! I haven't been on here for YEARS.

Two- Goodness Gracious, why didn't someone stop me when I was doing this story?! In all honesty, it was equivalent to the trash sitting outside of my house. So after reading it, seeing that it had nothing going- I've decided to rewrite it. Hopefully this version will be a lot better than the one before. I'm planning on it to be.

But like all of the wonderful writers on here on this beautiful site-

read it, like it, review it! I'd appreciate the reviews!

"Absence is a house so vast that inside you will pass through its walls and hang pictures on the air."

― Pablo Neruda

The room was messy as usual.

The toys were laid out all over the room, there were footprints marking up the floors and there was an unrecognizable stain, growing larger in the corner.

The huge bed that usually consisted of three little boys only held one.

Sweat glistened on face as he twisted and turned. The sheets were haphazard along with the blanket that had been providing him with the warmth he now didn't need.

The young child was hit with nightmare after nightmare- trying his best to get out of them but to only end up getting into another.

Finally, the child was able to waken, letting out a small scream as he sat up quickly in the bed.

Bright blue eyes, pierced through the darkness of the room, searching for the very demons that had roamed in his dreams.

Seeing that there were none, he looked down to see if the bodies of his brothers were lying asleep next to his. He only saw sheets.

He rose an eyebrow but thought nothing of it as he climbed out of bed, his tiny stumps making a soft thump on the ground with every step he took.

He sluggishly walked throughout the house, not seeing his brothers.

Worry began to sit in his stomach as he remained fruitless in his search.

"Brick?" He called out. "Butch? Where are you two?"

His answer was nothing but silence.

Boomer zipped around the house, calling for his brothers until the sun came up and he was in tears.

There was no trace. There was no note. There wasn't even a scene that looked as though they'd been fighting to keep from being kidnapped. There was nothing...

They were gone.

He spent weeks at a time, searching high and low for his brothers- even going to the other villains of the town to find them.

But not once did he ever have an inkling of where they might have gone.

Weeks soon turned into months for Boomer as he learned to survive on his own.

He kept to the shadows, stealing food whenever he had the chance.

He made sure he didn't make too much activity for those wretched girls to track him down. He didn't have the time, patience, or strength to face them on his own.

He didn't want them to question why he was on his own. Questions led to investigations and he wasn't to sure what would happen if they found out.

He knew he wouldn't be able to stay out of their radar for long.

They had a thing for trying to find the boys if they didn't do anything for too long. But standing there with Bubbles staring at him wasn't the way he wanted to be found.

He had been walking down one of the streets, just trying to distract himself from the pain his body and the emptiness in his stomach.

He was sure he didn't look too good either.

His clothes were a bit roughed up and dirty. He knew he had smudges on his face from earlier in the day. His hair had grown considerably longer, reaching a bit just below his shoulders. He usually kept it back but today he'd let it do what it wanted.

It curtained his face, letting him look out and see the world while no one could see him.

So when Bubbles hit him, he wasn't surprised. He looked crazy. Who wouldn't have?

He flew backwards, slamming into one of the buildings.

Boomer let out a whimper, shutting his eyes at the pain but quickly masked the pain, pushing himself out of the debris and going to fight.

They fought for what seemed like forever for the younger boy and before he knew it he was on the ground once more, eyes shut as he grit his teeth from trying to not scream out.

"What are you up to? Blossom said you and your brothers were doing something shady!" Bubbles said, floating above him. Her arms were crossed and she held a glare.

"I… I'm not doing anything! I'm just walking around!" Boomer growled at her, trying to get up.

"You're lying!"

"Just leave me alone!" Boomer shouted.

"So you can go do evil stuff?"

"No, so I can try and find some- Just leave me alone!" He screamed, jumping up and shooting off into the air.

He flew for as long as he could before finally collapsing.

He landed ungracefully into the dirt,

He spat the dirt out of his mouth, turning around and angrily punching a tree, watching it fall.

He sat down and before he knew it he was sobbing.

Curling up into a ball, he wrapped his arms around himself, finally letting bucket of emotions he'd been keeping up spill.

It had been about a month since Boomer has last encountered Bubbles, now really staying in the shadows.

He liked to stay home and keep to himself- only going out for food at night. It was a lot easier that way.

He had been trying to do his best to sleep when the door to the room he'd been hiding in opened.

He immediately jumped up, turning around to see Bubbles and the professor.

"Oh my…" The Professor mumbled to himself.

"What are you doing here? GO AWAY!" Boomer shouted, his eyes brightening as his anger soared. He could feel his fingers twitching- ready to hurt both of them.

"Calm down Boomer. Bubbles here told me about her last match with you and was worried." Professor said.

Bubbles looked at Boomer from behind the Professor's leg, her eyes wide with uncertainty.

"What's it matter to you?!" Boomer hissed.

"Boomer, where are your brothers?"

"Not here!"

"How long have they've been gone?"

"They're here! They just left!"

"Boomer." Bubbles interrupted. "Tell the truth."

Boomer stared at her before sighing.

"I don't know how long they've been gone…" Boomer mumbled, finally relaxing. Trying his hardest not to simply sob, he felt himself tearing up.

Professor and Bubbles both looked at each other.

"...Boomer, would you like to stay with us?" Professor asked.

Boomer backed up. "No! I refuse! I'm fine on my own, fine!" He said loudly, shaking his head.

The professor nodded. "Alright, that's fine. How about you stay with us for the night? Get a bath, some nice warm food… Then you can come back here." Professor asked.

Boomer thought about it for a few seconds before slowly nodding. "...Alright."

The professor nodded, smiling gently.

Bubbles walked in and over to Boomer, holding out a hand.

"Come on, I think you'll like it." Bubbles said.

Boomer stared at the hand before nodding slowly and placing his in hers. "Yeah… Okay."

Bubbles smiled, a small giggle escaping her lips and for the first time in months, Boomer felt good.
