Yo!!! This takes place in Raven's mind. She's thinking about the prophecy and how it seem unavoidable. By the way, Raven would so never cry in real life. Dark tears is a metaphor for her powers. This was my first piece of Teen Titans related poetry. Enjoy!!!
You do not have two heads. I do not own Teen Titans.
A Tribute to Raven
A dark and gloomy ridge,
Beyond the edge of stone,
Cloak stirring in the sultry breeze,
Raven stands all alone.
Inside her mind she ponders,
The darkness of her fate,
The time where she must kill the world,
And lose to rage and hate.
Her powers claw inside her,
And scream to be released,
But Raven keeps them tightly bound,
And holds them with her grief.
"Why did this have to happen?
Why must things be this way?
What is the purpose of my life,
If I don't have a say?
Is this my only choice?
If only I could see,
A way to beat the growing dark,
A different way to be."
For all her life she's known,
That on her day of birth,
She would become a portal and,
Her father would kill the Earth.
The world would turn to fire,
The night would never halt,
Her friends would die an awful death,
And it'd be all her fault.
She thinks about her life and,
What she has yet achieved,
But she know it was all for naught,
And silently she grieves.
"Does all the good I do,
Redeem me at least some?
Or does my certain destiny,
Mean my redemption's none?"
Within, her barrier's breaking,
Inside, she's just too sad.
If she does not free her feelings,
She surely will go mad.
And so her willpower crumples,
She gives in to her fears,
And on the edge of bitter stone,
Raven cries dark tears.
