Ryan cracked a cocky grin as he looked at the ring that he had just purchased. There was no way she could turn him down. Not with the night he had planned for them. Everything was going to be perfect.

Ryan was pulled from his imagination by the sound of his cell ringing. The cheery sound of Love Today by Mika booming from his phone announcing that it was Speed who was ringing him. A growl rose deep in his throat at the sound, he was going to rip Speedle's throat out for adding that as his ring tone and then breaking it so that he was stuck with it. On the plus side though, Speed only put it as his ring tone so he could keep a little dignity. If only he could stop the little bugger from ringing him every five minutes. That would be the day; Tim prided himself on his ability to annoy Ryan.

"WHAT DO YOU WANT SPEED?!" Ryan was not in the mood to be messed with. First he had been told that he was suspended from work, next he had the impending proposal and now this.

"Whoa, jeez man what's up with you? You sound like your gonna explode." came the deep voice of Tim Speedle.

"Its nothing. What do you want Speed?" Ryan was not impressed; he knew Speed was up to something. He had this little edge to his voice that Ryan instantly recognized as mischievousness,

"Nothing. Just thought I'd see how you doing."

"Whatever. Sure you not got anything to say to me?" He didn't care if he was being a ass, Ryan was not going to play any games, Not today.

"Nah. Oh wait Calleigh said to tell you that you could come back into work tomorrow, if you promise to behave" Ryan could hear speed trying to desperately not laugh his head off.

"Look, Speed. As much as I would love to play games, I have to go. There's something I have to do."

And with that Ryan Wolfe hung up on one of his best friends. That was a bad idea – know he knew that Tim was just going to get Eric to ring him so he turned his phone off.

~~Scene change~~

Hailey glared at her reflection, not at all happy with her predicament. Today was her birthday; her day off and she had a date with Ryan. It was supposed to be the best. But now she had received a call that could destroy everything, from somebody that she thought she would never have to face again.

Matt.

That name would be forever burned in her mind. Never able to escape those green eyes that once glanced at her with love and admiration, now with hate and distain. And all because she wanted to leave her past behind. Start anew. To escape and have the family that she never got to have back in England. She had just started to find herself a family, a place where she belonged.

And now he wanted her back

Shaking her head she cleared all her thoughts, as she got ready to go and meet everybody from the lab. They all wanted to take her out for her birthday, Horatio's idea. And she wasn't about to forget about the team and everything they had done for her. They had turned her from a quiet, beaten girl that had left the FBI after everything she had know was literally blown up in front of her eyes, into a strong woman who would quite happily bite somebody's head off. Bright Brown eyes twinkled as she skipped out the door of her apartment her excitement really starting to get the better of her

Hailey came to an abrupt halt. Seeing who was in front of her, making shivers run up and down her spine. In front of her was a man with blonde hair, covering one of his green eyes.

It was him.

The one that had destroyed everything for her.
