"Say, I have an idea… Why don't you enter the finals? You have some interesting powers." I did not like the way Lord Babi's eyes flashed when he suggested this. The greed in his eyes was apparent. Even Garet could see it. That's why he asked if we should go through with it.
I did not want to. But we were stuck. We had no way of moving forward. Our curiousity in Lemuria… our curiousity in Kraden's past (which he was always unbelievably mysterious about)… it made us want to talk to him, despite our misgivings. None of us just wanted to sit around and wait for the finals to end. We had to move. We had been moving non-stop for too long.
So we decided to compete in the Colosso finals. In the waiting room, we discovered that only one person of our group of four would be competing: me. Why me? My only guess is that Lord Babi had noticed I was the de facto leader of our group. Why only one?
"If Isaac wants to win, he'll have to use psynergy." "Well, Babi does seem very interested in our psynergy." It makes sense, of course. The four of us working together can take out most enemies without psynergy. Logically speaking, though, if only one of us is fighting… especially against trained warriors… we would have to rely on psynergy.
Psynergy has never been special in my eyes. It has always been just another tool I used in my life. More variable and more helpful than a simple sword, but still, it was just another tool, another weapon.
The greed in Lord Babi's eyes, though, reminds me that not all see psynergy like this. To some, it was not just another tool. It was the grandest of tools, the most potent of weapons.
"Now then, chosen warriors. Let the finals begin!" Ah, it is time to leave. Time to compete. I take a deep breath and steady my resolve.
My apologies, Lord Babi. The Laws of Vale dictate that psynergy should not be used in front of non-Adepts. None of the spectators, including yourself, are Adepts. And I will uphold the laws of my people.

Okay, feel free to skip this section, if you like. I don't normally do this section, but I feel the need to explain where this came from. Basically, I have never trusted, or liked, Babi. Don't know why, but I never have. Of course, considering how Golden Sun works, part of that distrust bled into my interpretation of Isaac during Golden Sun.
So, during each of the matches in Colosso, I've only had Isaac use healing psynergy, if he used any at all. Before anyone asks, yes, I've won each time. Must be all the crazy leveling up I do during these games.
Anyway, so this is basically my version of Isaac in the Waiting Room, resolving to not use psynergy. ^^ And that's where this thing sprung from.
