Fate Has No Heart
Once there was a small boy, about three, who was visiting Wales with is mother and father. He was a happy child, in the norm. He had, so far, lived a wonderful life. I seemed nothing could disturb his euphoria, and if fate decided to disturb it, what kind of heart does it have?
Well, the boy's birthday had just passed two weeks earlier, and he had received a toy boat from his parents. He just loved the boat. It happend that, across from the cabin they rented, there was a lake. All day the boy would play with the boat at the lake.
One evening, on the after dinner, he went outside to the lake to play with his boat. Night was falling, yet a dim light was cast on the ground. The boy noticed this and gazed up at a full moon.
Suddenly, he sensed something across the lake. He strained his eyes, trying to see if there was anything there. When his eyes finally focused upon the source of the noise, he froze. It looked like some kind of dog. It looked up, and its eyes met with the boy's. The dog started at a run around the lake, to the boy- yet still, he stood spellbound.
Faster and faster the dog ran, until he finally reached the child. Trying to run away from the dog, who was now trying to attack him, he tripped and fell. Just then the dog pinned him, opened his jaws wide, and tryed to bite into the flesh of the boy's neck. Fortunately, for the boy, he managed to sqirm out of the the dog's target.
The dog, driven for his lust for blood, tried again, but instead, only managed to get a hold of the boy's upper arm. The boy let out a peircing scream, and within seconds, his mother ran out of the cabin.
"Remus!" she screamed.
Truly, fate has no heart.
