This is one of my entries for the 2018 Summerward Vacation Postcard Contest. It was chosen as 3rd place public vote winner.

Dear Dad,

Get ready to gloat.

Ben and I caught the Mariner/Marlin game last night while we were in Miami. Just as it was getting started, the most gorgeous girl I have ever seen sat in the seat next to mine. After my second beer, I finally found the balls to initiate a conversation.

Once we started talking, I quickly became smitten and completely lost interest in the game. My entire focus rested solely on Bella and learning all about her.

In fact, I was so captivated by the brown-eyed beauty that I didn't even realize we were projected on the stadium's video boards until Ben nudged me with his elbow.

Imagine my surprise to find Bella and I spotlighted on the Kiss Cam.

After rubbing a hand through my hair, I glanced over at Bella and found her looking nervously my way.

Dad, I don't know if it was the four beers I had consumed over the course of the night or just the thought of never seeing her again that gave me the courage to do what I did next.

Instead of leaning over and giving her a simple peck, I pulled her to me and kissed the hell out of her.

The crowd went wild and so did my heart.

Now I understand what you meant all these years when you said I would just know.

I know, Dad. And it's her.

See you soon,

Edward
