Author's Note: Skipping formalities, this is a bloody sacrilege! How is it, that in the years that Dark Souls has been out, NO-ONE has down a crossover with Zelda like this one will be? Now, I've seen DS/LOZ crossovers where the Chosen Undead/Unkindled One/whatever you're called in DS2 enters Hyrule, but never the other way around: Where Link is the one who must choose between Light and Dark.

I actually got this idea from, of all things, tattoos. I was considering getting the Dark Sign on my right shoulder and a Tri-force on my right hand when it struck. So here we are.

To all the people who want me to update my other stories, I have only this: It will happen eventually. For now, though, enjoy (or tolerate if you don't) the first chapter of Dark Souls: The Adventures of Link

"In the Age of Ancients, the world was yet unformed, shrouded in darkness. A land of grey crags, Archtrees, and Everlasting Dragons. But then there was Fire, and with Fire, came Disparity. Warmth and Cold, Life and Death, and of course, Dark and Light. Then, from the Dark, They came, and found the Souls of Lords within the Flames. Nito, the First of the Dead. The Witch of Izalith and Her Daughters of Chaos. Gwyn, the Lord of Sunlight, and his faithful Knights. And the Furtive Pygmy, so easily forgotten.

With the strength of Lords, They challenged the Dragons. Gwyn's mighty bolts peeled away their stone scales. The Izalith Witches weaved great storms of Fire. Nito unleashed a devastating miasma of disease and death. And Seath the Scaleless betrayed his own kind; Thus, the Dragons were no more.

And so began the Age of Fire. However, soon the Flames will fade and Darkness will reign once more. Even now, there are only embers, and man sees not the Light, but the endless night. Amongst the living are seen, the bearers of the accursed Darksign.

Yes, indeed. The Darksign brands the Undead. And in this land, the Undead are corralled to the North, where they are locked away to await the end of the world…"

"Wake up Link!"

The young blonde Hylian jolted up, sweat dripping down his bare chest. He was panting, and his knuckles were white against his covers. 'I've had awful nightmares before, but… That was utterly terrifying!' He thought as he calmed his rapidly pounding heart. He looked around his room, taking solace in the fact that he was still in fact within the walls of Hyrule Castle, not… That other place. The shield that got the Hylian through some of his toughest battles lay discarded on the floor next to his trusty blade, both of which needed attention.

Then he noticed the Hylian woman peering over him, and he yelped. "P-Princess Zelda?! What are you doing in here?" The blonde exclaimed. Surely she hadn't come into his room simply because he had a nightmare?

She shrugged. "I heard mumbling and found you tossing and turning. I tried to calm you but when I felt your skin, it was burning. I started calling for you to wake up, Link" Zelda smiled. "It looks like it worked." The blonde woman looked him in the eye, almost daring him to hide the truth. "Were you having a nightmare?"

He sighed, rubbed his face, and nodded. "Yes I was, Princess. I have some questions I wanted to ask you."

"Fire away," she responded, ready.

Link mentally prepared himself for her laughter. "Have you ever heard of a place called Lordran?" He asked. "That was where my dreams took me.."

He was surprised to hear Zelda gasp. "You mean YOU'VE dreamt of Lordran as well?" She inquired incredulously. When Link nodded, her eyes widened. "What could this mean? I tried to ask Father, but he simply waved me off saying "It's just a dream," but I knew better! Link, if we have similar dreams, then perhaps we're bound by fate in some way!"

After this brief yet enlightening discussion, many years passed. Link grew from a young Knight in training into a renowned warrior who single-handedly saved Hyrule multiple times using the legendary Master Sword. Zelda meanwhile became the figurehead of Hyrule, leading it to its Golden Era, bringing peace to the land. Now, the two, as well as Hyrule as a whole, face its greatest threat…

Calamity.

Alarms blared around them as the Divine Beast fell, legs destroyed and chassis torn apart. The Zora operators, along with the Champion Mipha, evacuated as quickly as they could. Unfortunately, only Mipha failed to escape. Before the Zora could re-enter the Divine Beast, Waterblight Ganon decimated what was left, reducing the great Zoran machine to rubble and ending Mipha's life.

Across the field, the other Beasts were in similar circumstances with varying degrees of survival rates, with the Divine Beast Vah Medoh, crashing into the ground and exploding, killing everyone within and on the ground as well. Meanwhile, the Divine Beast Vah Naboris had the second fewest casualties, with Urbosa got most everyone out before Thunderblight Ganon killed her and her guards.

Link and Zelda felt each connection with each Champion sever as they ceased to exist in this world. Zelda was horrified as she relapsed into her memories of her mother's sudden death, while Link was unbelievably furious that Ganon could just waste life in such a disgusting manner so easily. Not only that… They were his friends- No, his family. Ganon tore them from him.

His grip on the Master Sword tightened as more Guardians surrounded them. "Zelda, you have to get out of here before Ganon kills us as well!" He shouted as a Guardian got too close before the blonde male cut it down.

Sadly, another Guardian used its comrade's destruction as a smokescreen, and made to stab Link using one of its glowing blades. Link's eyes widened as a body fell to his feet, a lethal wound through her chest.

Zelda had shielded him from the blow using her own body!

She smiled weakly up at him. "Don't give… Up just… Yet, Link… Even if this world… Falls to Ganon… We'll still see one another… I know we…. Will…" The final breath exhaled, her eyes glazed over and her head tilted to the side as her muscles released.

The final connection was severed. Once more, Link was totally alone in his life. He closed Zelda's eyes, and prayed for her soul along with the other Champions. Then, the Hylian stood. His right hand glowed as two parts of the strange marking lit up. He took one look at the Guardians, gripped his sword, and began to tear through them, refusing to let any of them near her body.

He noticed something about his movements. They weren't entirely his. Something or someone was giving him instructions instantaneously and his body was responding in kind, exploiting weak points and dodging stabs that otherwise would've sent him straight to Zelda and the others.

Eventually, he made a mistake and he paid severely. A deep gash from his right shoulder to the left side of his hip that scratched his bones. Still, he stood as his blood gushed out, his final thoughts were of that other place, Lordran, and his fallen comrades. His strangest vision and his greatest failure.

"Only, in the ancient legends, it states one day that an Undead shall be chosen to leave the asylum in pilgrimage to the ancient Land of Lords…"

"You've met with a terrible fate, haven't you?"

A/N: Whew! That took some time to write. Now, I haven't actually played LOZ:BotW, but I did read up on some plot points. Don't worry, they all died for a specific reason. I'm not a totally heartless monster, I promise.

Anyway, that was the introduction chapter, so look forward to the next one at some point. One of the Champions will awaken in the Undead Asylum, and their journey will begin.

For now, it's 3 in the morning, almost 4. So, I gotta go.

Tata~~!
