I woke up to the blaring alarm clock of my roommate Stevie Rae screaming out some country song. Groaning I roll over and read the 8:00pm in glowing red just before her hand slams down on it. rolling out of bed I make my way to the bathroom for a shower. As soon as I'm dons Stevie takes her turn. While I wait for her I put on my makeup and brush my now white hair before we make our way to class. Ow what kind of class starts at 8:30pm you ask? The vampire kind at the Tulsa house of night. The kind I Izzie Lynn attend since the night I was marked. You see I use to be Isabella Marie Swan of Forks, I was allowed to change it when I got here. I use to be the brown haired shy little book worm who was fortunate to have found the handsome, what I thought was perfect boyfriend, Edward Cullen. A vampire, though not the same kind as us. Now I was Izzie Lynn, I took Stevie Rae's last name, she quickly became my best friend and sister. I was brought out of memory lane as my Texan best friend came strolling out of the bathroom in her blue jeans, cowboy boots and flannel shirt. With that we made our way into the hall and down to the kitchen where our friends were sure to be just like every evening. Except this evening we had a dark daughters and sons meeting with the council. So that was where I, Damien, Aphrodite, Stevie Rae, Zoey and the twins Shaunee and Erin, Venus and Darius were headed. The others headed off to class and we would meet at lunch.

Aphrodite POV

Oh man I was pissed. You see I know why the council wants to speak to us, and I knew what It was going to do to her. But I kept it to myself as we headed for the temple. I'm a seer after all, did they think I wasn't going to see this? Taking my place next to Izz I bump her shoulder with a small smile, she one of the only few actually able to bring one out of me. She sends me her own smile that puts butterflies in my stomach and my heart skips a beat.

Once inside we take our seats as the council takes theirs. It was Dragon who spoke up eyes darting towards Izz. "As some of you are aware of the human world seems to be having a slight vampire problem. Quiet. As a result of these problems we are housing a family of them until further notice. The Dark Daughters and Sons are to be councilors if you will. You will be guides to these vampires. Any questions?" Damien of course had a ton, "what are their names? When will the arrive? Their diet?"

"they will be here Friday. They are known as the Cullen's and feed on the blood of animals." The last got a few chuckles before the name was recognized, all eyes shot to the now tense Izz. "Is everything understood, you are ti be polite and civil to these other Vampires."

"yes sir."

Izz POV

I haven't heard a word any of my teachers spoke since their name reached my ears. Finally I sat at our lunch table staring at my food as they all stared at me. "so-well shit." Venus finally broke the silence and I had to laugh.

Early that morning after classes ended I lay in bed wide awake as Stevie Rae sleeps peacefully in the bed beside mine. It was Wednesday, meaning I had three days to get myself and my thoughts together.

The next night I didn't bother changing out of my sweats and tank-top simply throwing a hoodie over them. I met the others downstairs well aware I looked like crap but none of them mentioned it. Aphrodite soon joined me looping her arm with mine as we headed for class and I felt better. Her company alone seemed to make me feel better along with the bright smile she would send my wa6y every now and then while I ignored the butterflies it gave me.

Friday came much quicker than I anticipated, I woke up to a pounding headache to make matters worse. With a groan I rose out of bed, well I rolled out of it and stumbled into the shower with my eyes half closed. I had two hours to get ready to greet the Cullen's.
