Something's Missing
By Dani-ko
1. Cut.
'Something is definitely different today,' Klaus thought as he made his way across the bullpen, glowering at sensitive Alphabets like G. The morning went by with some paperwork, and some minor consulting on other teams' missions.
It was only after lunch that Klaus realised what was wrong, and the knowledge made him stop dead in his tracks in the middle of the queue, with a tray of food in hands, causing other agents to bump into him – and then cower in fear of something that wasn't their fault.
It was Eroica's day and the thief was yet to show up.
2. Blonde.
Eroica hadn't been around for over six months, and the only thing Klaus could think about was why. He knew he had something to do with it, he just couldn't fathom what.
Klaus hadn't done anything out of the ordinary the last time they had seen each other, had he? He had smacked Dorian, called him names, yelled at him, but, as usual, in the end they had made up and just joked around like they always did. That was what male friends did – violence, subtle confidences and a slow built of trust. Then why was he missing Dorian so?
3. Love.
Finally, Klaus snapped – not on the outside, of course, but inside he was seething. Eroica had vehemently denied a mission, until G convinced him otherwise. G, of all people! The blonde hadn't even listened to Klaus, for heaven's sake. "Hello, Major," Eroica greeted, much more subdued than it was healthy. "How do you do?"
Klaus had wanted to scream and shake him until he was normal again. Instead, what came out was, "What the fuck is wrong with you?"
Eroica chuckled, waving his blonde hair. "You think of me as a friend—a lad. I've realised how hopeless I am."
4. Idiot.
That was what Klaus was. Not even as a youth he had played with the feelings of his intendeds like he had with the blonde's, and he had hurt Dorian in the worst way possible, he knew that. In situations like these, any kind feeling was a cruel gift, like taunting a starving man with a treat he could never have. Everything had been alright, until he had started to be kind to Dorian.
They were just friends. Klaus only saw Dorian as a friend. If that was so, why did Dorian's red-rimmed eyes made Klaus want to hug him?
5. Office.
Klaus had finally lost his mind.
There was no other way to look at it. What other explanation could there be for the fact that, not only had Klaus hugged Dorian, as he had taken the blonde's mouth by assault? Dorian's legs parted to allow Klaus in between, and the Major hoped Dorian liked what women liked. Except that Klaus hated women, and he didn't hate Dorian.
It was over so fast that it could have been embarrassing, except that it was great, and Klaus wanted very much to do it again. Preferably, not in the floor of his office.
THE END
Notes: I played a bit with the 'happy ending' part. *pulls mind out of the gutter* I doubt either of the boys minded, though... Wanna know what's cool? This time, I really, really wrote drabbles: 100 words each. Go me!
