A/N: This is cookie2718's requested drabble. Cookie, I hope you like it because this is my first-ever attempt at writing something involving Ginta and Snow. I didn't know if you wanted romance or not, so I left it as friendship that could be interpreted as somewhat romantic. XD

To Protect
"Do you ever miss your home, your family?" The blond teen asked absentmindedly, staring at the non-sky of the dimension, the odd spiral at the center looking a lot like a gaping tear out of reach. It made the time he had spent there not feel quite like one hundred days, but one never-ending day.
The princess sitting beside him did not answer for a moment. She fiddled with a blade of grass, inspecting it carefully before replying.
"All the time. I haven't seen my father in…I don't know how long."
Oh.
Ginta mentally kicked himself. Of course she's homesick. Why did I think that she was totally unaffected?
"But I know that I'll see him again, and that helps me stay strong until then." Smiling, Snow looked up at him and put a hand on his shoulder. She was so close and the boy could almost feel her hope—her positive attitude had always been contagious, as if she radiated with it.
At her smile, Ginta felt himself grin in return and only one thought was present in his mind: I'm going to be strong…for her.
