Lucario's Legend
...The Beginning of their fate...
Disclaimers: I do not own Pokemon, but the plot does belong to me. I wrote this story a long time ago, but I am just now posting this.
A strike of lightning flashed across the sky as the steady patter of rain gently fell onto an injured Riolu's face. The Riolu couldn't help but stare blankly at the dark sky leaving his badly injured body to rest in the downpour, since he couldn't move a muscle. It was getting hard to tell if he was soaked from the rain or his own tears. He slowly moved his paw over the wound trying to stop the bleeding, but it was a pointless action. The Riolu kept his head towards the sky, trying to remember how this happened, all he could remember was a yellow flash and his skin crawling like it was alive. Riolu remembered a sharp pain in his side and the feeling of the hard ground that he found himself on now. He remembered nothing before that moment. Not how to use his special attacks, not how to survive, he couldn't even remember his parents or even if he had any, no friends, no childhood memories. Like I said... nothing. Just basic instincts. The steady patter of rain picked up, another bolt of lightning shot across the sky, blinding his eyes for a short moment.
He wanted to close his eyes and pretend this was just a bad dream, but his mind screamed in pain reminding him that it's all too real. The taste of blood in his mouth made his stomach go sour, he hated the thick metallic taste of it, he felt his lungs trying to cough it up but every time he tried he felt like splitting in two. Riolu felt his breathing beginning to slow, but he knew he had to keep his breathing long and hard, to at least try to survive. Speaking of that, a very simple but yet life alternating question came to the riolu. "Should I try to live? or... "die and end all this pain and misery?" That was all the Riolu was thinking, the simple question. It was simple as yes or no, since the riolu had nothing to tie him down, or at least any that he could remember. Riolu was fighting this battle over survival over the fact that he 'could' have a life and that he could have a family. He could belong somewhere but on the other hand, the pain that he was experiencing was absolute torture, nothing seemed to be worth finding out if he had to suffer through this pain to find it out. Riolu knew that his mind was screaming to end it, but his heart was shouting no you could have a life you just need to survive this and find it. It was absolute conflict, Riolu wanted to survive but he needed a more 'powerful' reason to survive, or better yet, a more powerful reason not to die. Riolu randomly began to laugh, well a rather weak chuckle in his instance. The answer popped in his head like a bubble that had grown too large. He read the answer in his mind like a book, repeating it with a crock of a voice that seemed like it was going to rip out his throat, he said and thought as the same time "Pain will end but death is forever."
