Disclaimer: I don't own "Harry Potter". :(
CHOCOLATE HAIR AND RADIANT SMILES
Time, Viktor thought nervously. For the Yule Ball.
What if she thinks you a fool? he wondered, turning to look at the mirror on the wall. In the corner of the looking glass, he spotted her beautiful chocolate-brown hair.
Whirling around, he saw her walk down the stone steps in her beautiful periwinkle dress, and he swore his jaw must have dropped.
Everyone was staring at her (which made Viktor uncomfortable), but she lifted her chin defiantly and took his arm.
Merlin, she's perfect.
Viktor led her into the Great Hall, and she smiled that radiant smile. Her friend, Harry Potter (the universal hero and celebrity), was staring at her as if he could not recognize his friend.
Which was rather surprisingly, considering how close they seemed.
He gave the boy a suspicious look. What if Potter like Hermione? Surely she would leave Viktor for the Boy Who Lived. Or maybe that grumpy red-head she seemed close to...
Viktor tried not to think about that with the beautiful girl standing next to him.
Viktor swam furiously, trying to save Hermione. If he didn't hurry, she was going to die. She was going to drown, and he would lose her.
So maybe that sounded selfish. Maybe Viktor was selfish. He was a multi-million Galleon Quidditch player, after all.
Stop it, Viktor, you're getting distracted!
Viktor shook his shark's head to clear his mind, then forced himself to swim even faster. Out of the corner of his eye, he could see Hermione's perfect, beautiful face.
She looked so peaceful. A bit like how she looked when she was reading a book in the library – one of the few places he could actually see her.
Hermione probably thought I was a stalker, Viktor thought mournfully, recalling the days he would sit at the library just to watch her read and do homework. But then, she must realize how beautiful she is…
Finally, the water began to clear, and Viktor could see the sun through the murky water. Just as bright, or maybe less so, as Hermione.
He swam as quickly and as hard as he could, gripping her tightly so that no sea creature would be able to harm her.
Finally, he broke the top, gasping for breath as his shark head shrunk back to his own. Hermione's eyes fluttered open, and she beamed when she spotted Viktor.
"Thank you," she whispered, smiling.
He smoothed back her chocolate-brown hair and smiled back.
When they reached the platforms to dry off, Viktor couldn't take it anymore.
He kissed Hermione for the first time.
"Good bye, Hermioninny," Viktor said to her, trying his best to pronounce her name.
Hermione grinned. "Her-my-oh-nee. Not Hermioninny."
They laughed. Taking her hand, he told her, "Either way, thank you."
"For what?" she asked curiously.
He shrugged. Words had never really been his strong suit. "Everything."
She smiled. "Well, you're welcome. And thank you, too, for everything."
Viktor tried to smile back, and handed her a paper with his address on it. "Here. My address. To send letters to."
Merlin, he would miss her.
Those were his favorite moments with her. When he had fallen head-over-heels for the smart, beautiful Hermione Granger, and thought she loved him back.
But she did not, and he lived an empty life without her.
He lay in his bed as an old man, and somehow, he knew that this would be his last moment. As he closed his eyes to accept his fate, he saw her. Hermione was an angel dressed in white, captured in her youth.
She smiled her radiant, perfect smile. "Viktor, it's time."
Um, yeah. So this was my first attempt at Krumione fanfiction... Sorry if it's too short for you. :3
Let me know how I can make it better! :D Reviews are more than welcome! ;)
