Happy 18th birthday, JammyToast! Love you girl! (: Here's your horrible, crappily written present (;

Jk.
Sort of.

Panic Attack

It was Sunday night, and Cameron Hicks was distracted.
It was football season, which meant Cameron was glued to the TV and Nina was glued to her credit card. But that was fine with them both- they loved living like this. It was their thing.

"Cameron," she shouted as she entered their house one day. "Guess what?"

She plopped herself and all of her bright, multi-colored bags down on the couch. "I got my nails done! Don't they look pretty?"

"Yup."

"I even brought the color! Oh, and don't worry, it was all on sale. Well, most of it was on sale. Some of it, I guess." She pressed her lips together and thought for a moment, then shrugged nonchalantly.

"Mh-hm."

Nina sighed. "Babe, you're doing it again."

"Hm?"

"The thing where you pretend to be listening to me but you're really just watching the football game."

Cameron's distracted eyes still followed the players on the screen. "...Yeah."

Nina rolled her eyes, and settled down next to him. He impulsively readjusted his arm around her body. She tried to follow the game on the screen, but it all just looked like a bunch of guys running around to her. She threaded her fingers through his, looking at his fingers. "Cameron?"

"Hm?"

"Can I paint your nails?"

"Sure," he replied distractedly, his eyes never leaving the screen. Nina smirked, and reached next to her on the couch so she could grab the small bag that contained her new nail polish.

"Did you see the game last night?" Cameron asked over his shoulder to Bill, as he opened the fridge in the break room and pulled out a water bottle.

"Nope," Bill smirked and stretched out, resting his feet atop the table. "But I'm sure you did."

Cameron smiled, falling into the seat next to Bill. "Of course I did. Wouldn't have missed it for anything."

Bill's eyes traveled down, and he chuckled. "You must have been really engrossed in the game, huh?"

"What do you mean?" Cameron's eyes followed Bill's gaze and he jumped up. "Ah! What's on my hands?"

Bill's laugh followed him as he left the break room. "You guys are at the nail painting stage? Congratulations!"

"Nina," Cameron rushed into her office down the hall. "What did you do?"

Nina looked up, confused for a moment, but when she saw how he was holding his hands out her smile brightened. "I painted your nails. Isn't it a pretty color? It's called Panic Attack."

"That's what I'm having!" He insisted. "How do I get this off?"

Nina rolled her eyes. "Nail polish remover, of course." She smiled. "But I'm all out. Sorry. Ask Rachel."

So he turned right around and went to the room next door.

"I don't wear nail polish," Rachel didn't even look up from her computer as Cameron walked into her office. "The smell gets to me. Sorry; but I don't have any remover." She looked up as Cameron looked at her curiously. "You guys were being pretty loud," she explained. "I heard you."

Cameron's shoulder fell, and he turned around to leave.

"Don't worry," Rachel called after him. "I think pink might be your color."

Happy birthday (: I hope you liked the story!
