A/N: Okay, so this is going to be a series of drabbles about moments in Elizabeth and Susans life over the years. Most of these will be Suzabeth as there is a serious lack of it on here. That being said, if anyone has any prompts or ideas they want to share let me know and I'll get on it.
This is for all you Suzabeth FanGirls over on Twitter, you know who you are...
Diclaimer: Yeah, I really don't own this. If I did, Susan and Elizabeth would've gotten together in sesaon 10 and Romano would still be here...
It was all her fault. Elizabeth was not taking the blame for this one.
She barely notice that throughout the entire four hour surgery she had been sing the same song over and over under her breath. Even when the other doctors started to look at her strangely she hadn't noticed and Elizabeth prided herself on her observational skills.
It wasn't until Romano and had walked past, making a lewd remark about a Lonely Hearts column that she realised what she had been doing. It was at this point that she decided to kill a certain blonde down in the ER.
God, she hated that song.
"Elizabeth, what brings you down here?" Smiling at the surgeon, Susan cocked her head wondering what had Elizabeth so worked up. She had been fine when they drove to work that morning.
"We are never going anywhere near another bar with a jukebox again." Elizabeth warned, her British accent making some of the words sound awkward coming from her mouth. Susan didn't care, she actually found it quite endearing.
"Why, what's wrong?" She asked. The two of them had been getting closer over the past few weeks and Susan thought that they were both okay with the new direction their relationship had been taking.
"I've been singing that damned song all day!" Practically pouting Elizabeth looked at Susan as if expecting her to make it all better. Unfortunately Susan was having a hard time stopping herself from laughing.
"That's what this is about, I thought it was something serious!"
"This is serious. In fact, it's so serious I'm considering not joining you tonight." Now Elizabeth had the upper hand, knowing that Susan had been wanting to try out a new club that had opened at the other side of town. Elizabeth was so caught up in her almost victory that she didn't notice the smug grin that had spread across the other womans face.
Leaning closer, lowering her voice considerably, Susan smiled at the hitch in Elizabeth's breathing at the close proximity. "I guess we could just stay in. I'll bring the tequila, you just come as you are."
Happy with the stunned look on the Brit's face Susan turned, ready to leave. But not without singing loud enough for Elizabeth to hear, determined to make her exit as dramatic as possible to amuse her as she walked away, "If you like PiƱa Coladas and getting caught in the rain. If you're not into yoga, if you have half a brain..."
On second thought, Elizabeth Corday loved that song.
A/N2: And there you go. My first ER fic, let me know what you think and whether I should bother to continue it or not...
By the way, the song is 'Escape' by Rupert Holmes and it's been stuck in my head for days...
