Snow Day

"Hogsmeade? Really? Ronald, you could have chosen anywhere! You could have chosen somewhere a bit more special," Hermione Granger complained when she saw the place her husband had chosen to spend their anniversary. "Of all places why here?"

"I thought this place was pretty special," Ron Weasley mumbled blushing. He stared down at the snow covered ground where he was shuffling his feet. "In um my opinion Hogwarts was a pretty special place for us and our relationship. Obviously we can't go on a date in the castle so I thought this was the next best thing. We can spend the day here just like we would back when we were in school or we could go somewhere else if you'd prefer."

"Ron that's... this is really sweet," Hermione replied tears coming to her eyes, equally touched and shocked by the amount of thought Ron had put into the location. "It's perfect, let's stay here like you planned." She looped her arm through his beginning to walk through the main street of the small village.

The young couple spent the next few hours wandering around Hogsmeade. They stopped by the Shrieking Shack and shopped for a bit reminiscing about their youth as they did so. As it got later and the weather started to cool off more they headed into the Three Broomsticks.

Ron who had forgotten to wear a hat shook the snow off his head looking very similar to a wet dog shaking themselves dry. Hermione could not help but chuckle at her husband as she sat down in a booth. The two sat their in silence enjoying their Butterbeers and each other's company as they warmed themselves.

"I wish we could do this everyday," Hermione murmured as she laid her head on Ron's shoulder. "It's so peaceful, I couldn't think of a better way to spend our anniversary."

"I wish we could too," Ron agreed wrapping an arm around her waist and pulling her closer. "Although I can think of something to make this more perfect." He then pulled out a gift from a pocket within his cloak. "Happy Anniversary."

Hermione sat back up and opened her gift, smiling when she saw the necklace her husband had picked out: a locket with a quote from her favorite book engraved on the front. "It's perfect, thank you," she murmured kissing his cheek. "There's two parts to your gift and I'll try to safe the hopefully more exciting one for last." She handed him an envelope after she finished speaking it.

Ron opened the envelope to find tickets to a Chudley Cannons Quidditich match, his jaw dropping when he saw the tickets. "This is the less exciting gift?" he asked not sure how Hermione could manage to top this. Hermione simply nodded in response and handed him a second box. He opened the box confused at first by why he was being given a muggle thermometer before turning it over and seeing a pink plus sign. "Are you-?" he asked looking up at Hermione, to surprised to finish his question.

"Yes," Hermione answered nodding and smiling nervously. Ron hugged her tightly then pulling away to give her a peck on the lips. "I'm so happy for you, for us. You're right this day couldn't get any better."
