I was sitting on the train waiting for it to start heading to Hogwarts. "Ren? Renny where are you?" A voice called. I stood up and looked out of my cabin. There stood Oliver Wood. "Hello Ollie. Nowhere else to sit?" I asked him. "Yep. Mind if I sit with you?" He asked. "Nope. Plenty of room. Come on." I said. He sat beside me and I pulled out my book. "Really, Renny? You have to read while on the train?" He asked. "Really, Ollie? You have to bug me already?" I asked. Cedric Diggory came and sat in the seat across from us. "Hey Ced. How was your summer?" I asked him. "Boring. You have to spend next summer with us. Please?" Cedric pleaded. I smiled. Cedric and I are third year and Oliver is a fourth year. "Can you believe it? I'm Quidditch Captain this year." Oliver said, handing me a letter. "Good job, Ollie! I'm Head Girl. Everyone tells me that I should be in Slytherin because of my dad." I tell them. "Just because Professor Snape is your father and head of Slytherin house doesn't mean that you have to be in Slytherin. Renny, don't let anyone tell you different." Oliver told me. "I don't. It just hurts to know that is what everyone thinks of me." I said.
Cedric puts his hand on mine. "I don't think of you like that. Neither does Oliver. Arennia, you are the smartest witch of our age. You also love to read and work in a team. Slytherin doesn't like to do that unless it's to hurt someone." Cedric said. I smiled at them and then we heard, "Look fellas, Arennia has two boyfriends this year." Oliver stood up and looked at Marcus Flint with a scowl.
"Says the toad with troll teeth!" I said. Marcus looked at me angry. "You'll pay for that!" He said, storming off. "What a jerk! Why would he say that?" Oliver asked, sitting back down. "He's always been like that to her Oliver. When it was time to be sorted into our houses, he tripped her as she walked by and she nearly cried. If Percy hadn't stepped in, Marcus wouldn't have had teeth." Cedric said. "What do you mean by that?" Oliver asked. "Angelina was going to knock out his teeth, so Percy being Percy stepped in and Slytherin got points taken away by Professor McGonagall for that action." I said. "What did Professor Snape do?" They asked. "I believe it was at least one month of detention. I don't know for sure, but ever since he has been rude." I said. Oliver wrapped an arm around me. "Even though I am in a year above you Renny, if he keeps it up, let me know. Okay?" Oliver said. "Did you hear? Harry Potter has come to Hogwarts." A girl from Ravenclaw said.
"Harry Potter? The Boy Who Lived?" I asked. "The one. Can't believe it." Then she ran off. "Wow." I said. "Anything from the trolley, dears?" The elderly woman asked. "Three Pumpkin Pasties, Three Licorice Wands, and three Bertie Bott's Every Flavor Beans please." I said. I paid for our snacks and handed some to Oliver and some to Cedric. "Thanks Renny." They said. "No problem." As we started to get closer to Hogwarts, we changed into our robes. "Feels nice to see us as friends even if we are in different houses." Oliver said. When we arrived at the station we went straight to the carriages waiting for us. Oliver helped me into the carriage and Cedric climbed in with us. The carriage set off for the castle and we sat there talking. When we arrived, Cedric hugged me and smiled at Oliver then headed to join the rest of the Hufflepuff house. Oliver and I joined the Gryffindor house at our table and waited for the Sorting Ceremony to begin. Harry Potter was put in Gryffindor house as well as Percy and the twin's brother Ron. Hermione Granger too. After the rules were explained, Dumbldore started the feast. After the feast Oliver and I headed to Gryffindor Tower. We went into our respective dormitories and settled in for the night.
